My name is Steve Parquet. I'm the owner of www.HawaiiCarRentals.net. 

I'm an authorized car rental vendor for Avis, Budget, Dollar, Thrifty and Enterprise car rentals. I started renting cars for these companies in 2004 and by 2008, the web site is responsible for renting hundreds of cars per month on the islands of Kauai, Oahu, Maui, Molokai and the Big Island of Hawaii. 

It must seem pretty weird coming across web sites like mine and wondering if it's legit or not. When you book through my web site, you are actually booking directly with the Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise and Thrifty web sites. It's just that the web site address is different because special identifiers are added to it that tells the car rental companies the visit is coming from my web site. It also tells them that, depending on the car rental company, you are entitled to the prenegotiated fixed special Hawaii car rental rate and its related waivers; like no charge for additional driver, age 21-24 surcharge waiver, a grace period, etc. 

For example, https://www.thrifty.com/index.aspx?iata=00142150&promotioncode=2150 is my corporate discounted Thrifty link and http://www.thrifty.com is Thrifty's main web site. That's one reason why when you go to their web site you get one rate, and clicking from my web site you get another. Some times when you go to Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise and Thrifty's web site, one day you get one rate and if you go back the next day or the next week or a month later and check the rates on the same exact car, the rate may have changed. 

The rates on my web site are usually fixed all year long. The car rental rates from these companies (Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise and Thrifty) can change on their main web sites on a daily basis, depending on the timeframe and availability. The rates I list on my web site are not always lower than their posted daily rates every single time, but they seem to usually always be better rates. 

I am responsible for marketing my own web site and I pay for all the advertising of my web site.

As far as Hawaii is concerned, web sites like mine, as well as several other web sites marketing cars in Hawaii, are given special discounts and fixed rates that seem to beat the car rental company main site rates most all of the time. It's like a corporate volume discount that I/we pass on to the consumer. We all get commissions from marketing the rental cars, of course.

I own a couple other Kauai vacation rental web sites.

• The Kauai Vacation Rentals List, which has been in operation since 1995, advertises over 600 Kauai vacation rentals for private owners and property management companies. Kauai vacation rentals are available on the web site from $400 per week up to over $25,000 per week.

• The Wailua Bay View oceanfront condominium rentals web site, has been in operation since 2004.

I lived in Poipu Beach, Kauai from December of 1999 until December of 2006, when I moved to Sedona, Arizona. As you may know, the weather sure isn't the same as living in the tropics.
